"We build bridges" project - people with disabilities in everyday life and at school

At the beginning of the second week of school, the three fifth-grade classes at the SIS schools in Reinsdorf welcomed a special guest.

Mr. Christian Lissek from Malteser Hilfsdienst e.V. showed the children that even people like himself with disabilities can lead an independent and successful life in everyday life. To do so, however, they need the understanding, consideration and sometimes also the help of their fellow human beings. Our guest talked about his own life and the children were amazed when they learned that he is a winning kart racer despite his physical disabilities. The pupils enjoyed an entertaining round of games. They used the finger alphabet of the deaf, tested their sense of taste and smell by blindly recognizing food and spices and navigated through the classroom sitting in a wheelchair with great skill. We would like to say a big thank you for these special experiences.
