There, a field experiment awaits the future graduates outdoors in the cold and snow. Nevertheless, the mood is relaxed and the three hours in the fresh air are looked forward to positively. The field experiment is intended to give the young people a better understanding of the field service profession of a measurement technician and to give them an insight into a rather unknown occupational field. Initial knowledge was already gained in the practice-oriented lessons, with the task of measuring the outbuilding with a handheld laser measuring device and preparing a technical floor plan drawing in group work.
At several stations, the students were able to apply and put into practice the knowledge and know-how they had learned in class. Using a tape measure, GPS measurement, theodolite and handheld laser measuring device, the students surveyed a small plot of land on the office premises, gaining many new insights and impressions in the process. Mr. Ranglack, our contact person on site, supported the measuring sequence with many tricks of the trade and explained a lot about the professional field and the requirements for a measuring technician. The future trainees thus strengthened their measuring practice and learned a lot about the training at the office.
All in all, a very successful excursion, which despite the initial cold became a very special experience. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our contact person, Mr. Ranglack, and the cafeteria team, who were able to provide us with tea and coffee during a warm-up break in the presentation hall.
