Competence analysis

What are my strengths? What am I good at and what do I enjoy doing? In order to find answers to these questions, the potential analysis procedure of the 7th grade of the International Secondary School Reinsdorf took place from February 07-09, 2022.

As part of the "Praxisberater an Oberschulen" project, this procedure is used to learn about the strengths and abilities of the students, in addition to their professional skills. We want to support the children in following their professional and personal path and to become more aware of their strengths and talents. And in order to be able to record these abilities, tasks and tests have been developed for the potential analysis. The tasks are worked on in small groups and also individually by the students.

The procedure can be used to record all the interdisciplinary and occupation-relevant competencies required for career orientation: Social competence, methodological competence, personal competence and basic work-practical competence.

While working on the tasks, the students were observed by practice advisors, who subsequently assessed their performance.

To get a well-rounded picture, students also self-assessed their performance and give themselves a grade.

From these sources, the assessment of the practical advisors and the self-assessment of the students, a personal competence profile is created for each student. With it, the individual students receive feedback on their strengths and they see how they have assessed themselves.

The students are certainly eager to see the results. A personal interview will then also yield the answer to the question: "Where do my strengths actually lie?"
